Marijuana Vaporizers Overview

The Extreme Q Vaporizer

A Marijuana vaporizer is a device which heats marijuana to the point of releasing the psychoactive ingredient THC, without causing combustion (180-220C. As a result of avoiding combustion, vaporizers have proven to be a much healthier alternative to smoking marijuana, with studies proving the benefits of vaporization to actual smoking. Vaporizers are especially beneficial to medical marijuana patients who may have an adverse reaction to the smoke from traditional smoking methods such as joints or bongs. In 2006, a Leiden University study discovered that

Our results show that a safe and effective cannabinoid delivery system seems to be available to patients. The final pulmonal uptake of THC is comparable to the smoking of cannabis, while avoiding the respiratory disadvantages of smoking.

Vaporizers generally come in two styles, portable and non-portable. They are typically available at price points ranging from 50$ to 700$. Vaporizers can use a range of different heating methods, which can greatly alter the experience of vaporizing.

Portable

Portable vaporizers include models such as the Magic Flight Launch Box (MFLB), the Vaporgenie, and the Thermovape Vaporizer. Being small and easy to carry, these models have the advantage of being highly portable as well as stealthy. Their downside however is that they tend to produce less consistent vapor, and must be recharged or refilled in order to operating.

Non-Portable

Larger models such as the Extreme Q and Volcano are less portable, but they’re able to create a much more consistent vapor. These models can be operated either with a whip or with a bag system. They also generally come with fancy options, such as precise temperature gauges and remotes.
