Why I Use A Herbal Vaporizer
Where I’m from, herbal vaporizers are still a relatively new concept to those around me. Although some people have heard of vaporizers, they often haven’t tried one, and ask me why I prefer vaporization so much to smoking. I decided to write this post to outline a few of the many reasons why everyone can benefit from using a herbal vaporizer to smoke their cannabis.
My personal history with vaporizers is quite lengthy. I started vaporizing four years ago, when I first purchased a VaporGenie. After first using it, I couldn’t believe how well it worked and found myself cutting back significantly on actually smoking. However, after several months I began to note several limitations in the Vaporgenie (small bowl size, difficulty for newbies to use), and decided to purchase an Extreme Q to go along with it, as I had heard several good things about it. The Extreme Q performed brilliantly, and to this day I still use it frequently. Afterwards, I began experimenting with several other vaporizers including the Volcano, and found myself comparing the differences between vaporizers. Today I like to use several different vaporizers, and pretty much never smoke anymore since I’ve grown to love the taste and feeling of vaporizing. I also used to smoke cigarettes, and when I quit I wanted to move away from actually smoking anything at all if possible.
The first reason I love vaporization is for the taste. Vaporizing at about 200C produces very clean and tasty vapor that very much tastes what cannabis smells like. When I used to smoke, joints would often irritate my throat and make me cough. With a good quality vaporizer however, my lungs always feel clear. Even Health Canada takes a positive stance on vaporizers for medical marijuana patients, noting that they don’t produce any tar or ash.
Next, I like to vaporize rather than smoke is efficiency. Vaporizers are much more efficient than smoking, and as a result my stash lasts much longer than it would if I were to smoke. This is one of the most compelling reasons why several of my friends ended up purchasing vaporizers. Once they saw how much herb they could conserve vaporizing, they realized that the unit could pay for itself after several months in cannabis savings alone.
Another reason why I love vaporizers comes down to choice. With a large array of both portable and electric vaporizers on the market today, there is a wide selection of vaporizers to choose from, all using different technologies. Every style of vaporizer comes with its own pros and cons, so it is important to educate yourself on what type of vaporizer best suits your needs. I recommend coming up with a list of features that you’d like your vaporizer to have (such as long battery life, large vapor production, discreetness, price, etc), and then narrowing down your choice to one or two models. Many people often find themselves purchasing both portable and electric vaporizers so they can have the best of both worlds. People often like to upgrade their vaporizer to a more expensive model as well when they have some cash to spare.
You can also do some pretty neat things with vaporizers, including connecting a bong in order to cool down the vapor even more.
